• 5/3/24 - Decatur High School student arrested after gunshot fired during fight in parking lot, police say - DECATUR, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 15-year-old Decatur High School student was arrested after a gunshot was fired during a fight in the school’s parking lot Friday, according to the Decatur Police Department.

• 5/3/24 - 15-year-old Decatur High School student arrested after shooting at student during fight - DECATUR, Ga. — A Decatur High School student was arrested after shooting at another student during a fight on Friday morning, which prompted the school to go into a brief lockdown.

• 4/26/24 - High school student arrested following Hinesville double shooting - Police in Hinesville say a teenager has been arrested in connection to a double shooting.

• 4/16/24 - 14-year-old student found with loaded 9mm pistol at middle school, Forsyth County officials say - FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 14-year-old was arrested at Little Mill Middle School Tuesday morning after Forsyth County School officials found a 9mm pistol on the student’s waistband during a search.

• 3/19/24 - McEachern High School shooting: Fourth person in custody - COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A fourth person has been arrested in connection to the shooting a McEachern High School in Powder Springs in February.

• 2/14/24 - 4 Students Shot Outside Atlanta High School - The students were fired at from a vehicle and were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

• 2/9/24 - Parents describe McEachern High School as 'dangerous' and 'out of control' - COBB COUNTY, Ga. — At a community meeting in Powder Springs Thursday night, parents and students expressed anger and fear, describing McEachern High School as dangerous and out of control, and they demanded better security, once and for all.

• 2/1/24 - McEachern High School shooting - SKYFOX 5 flew over McEachern High School in Cobb County where police confirmed two people were shot in the campus parking lot.

• 11/8/23 - Middle school student brings weapon to Tucker school, prompting lockdown - TUCKER, Ga. — A Tucker Middle School student brought a weapon to campus on Wednesday, leading to a Level 2 lockdown on campus.

• 9/27/23 - 3 Richmond County schools report weapons found on campus - AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Three different Richmond County schools are reporting that weapons were found on campus, according to letters sent home to parents.

• 8/24/23 - Loaded gun found in student’s backpack at metro Atlanta area high school - MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta High School principal Marvin J. Crumbs announced that a 15-year-old student was found with a loaded weapon in his backpack Thursday morning.

• 8/16/23 - Josey High School shooting - AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A shooting suspect turned himself in Thursday, a day after a fellow student was injured by gunfire at Josey High School.

• 8/13/23 - Augusta teen, 17, spending weekend in jail for pocket knife at school - An Augusta teen is spending her third day at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center after her arrest Friday for having a pocket knife at a local school.

• 8/2/23 - Metro Atlanta elementary school student found with gun on campus on 2nd day of school, officials say - NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A student was found with a gun at a metro Atlanta elementary school on Wednesday.

• 3/21/23 - River Ridge High School students evacuated after bomb threat - CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - The students at a Cherokee County high school have been evacuated while police investigate a bomb threat to the school.

• 3/15/23 - Weapon confiscated at DeKalb County high school, officials say - A student at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Lithonia faces disciplinary and criminal consequences after bringing a weapon to the campus on Tuesday, school officials said.

• 3/11/23 - Child of South Fulton police officer accused of bringing gun to school, authorities say - FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — An investigation is underway after a child of a police officer brought a handgun to school.

• 11/30/22 - Reported threat at Brunswick High was a prank call, according to school system - BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WTOC) - Law enforcement responded to the report of a threat at Brunswick High School on Wednesday morning.

• 11/30/22 - Hoax calls regarding gunmen on campuses put several Georgia schools on lockdown - CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Law enforcement in several Georgia cities responded to false threats of violence on school campuses. 

• 11/30/22 - School shooting hoax leaves Westside teens, parents shaken - AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Deputies, SWAT officers, a bomb squad, and other first responders rushed to Westside High School after an active shooter was reported Wednesday morning in what Gov. Brian Kemp called a “cruel hoax” that affected other campuses across the state.

• 11/30/22 - Juvenile arrested for Colquitt Co. school social media threats, framing another student - MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) - A juvenile has been arrested on a terroristic threat charge after framing another student for threatening to bring a gun to school and shoot multiple students at Willie J. Williams Middle School, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

• 11/22/22 - Teen arrested in Georgia high school gun incident wasn't a student there - With school shootings spiking around the nation, a social media post claimed a Georgia high school student was found with several guns on campus. 

• 11/17/22 - Fifth grader found with unloaded weapon at Creekside Intermediate School in Cataula - Police found an unloaded gun on a fifth grader at Creekside Intermediate School in Cataula Thursday, according to a press release from the Harris County School District.

• 11/12/22 - Georgia school staff member arrested after leaving gun in campus bathroom - A staff member at a primary school in Georgia was arrested and fired after she left her purse containing a firearm in the school bathroom.
