• 5/9/24 - Student who allegedly fired gun inside Bossier City classroom arrested, charged - BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - A student accidentally fired a gun in a Bossier City school Thursday morning (May 9).

• 1/12/24 - 1 Bogalusa High School student killed, another hurt in shooting - School leaders say one student was killed and another was hurt as a basketball game was going on.

• 12/13/23 - Sen. Bill Cassidy: TikTok responsible for rise in violence in Louisiana schools - WASHINGTON — An uptick in violence at Louisiana schools can be traced to posts on TikTok, the Chinese-owned social media site, such as the “Slap a Teacher Challenge,” according to a review by U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy of reports from 25 school superintendents across the state.

• 12/13/23 - East St. John High School students return to class as deputies investigate threats - LAPLACE, La. —Students are going back to class at East St. John High School as authorities investigate a pair of threats that were reported Tuesday morning. The campus in Laplace was on lockdown for hours.

• 11/21/23 - Classes canceled at Jesuit High School due to threat - School leaders sent a letter out to parents Tuesday morning.

• 11/17/23 - 17 arrested in 48 hours after 2 fights at separate schools in Acadiana - Port Barre, La (KADN) In just one week there were two fights in Acadiana schools. Almost 20 people have been arrested for school violence involving not only students, but parents too. These fights have been caught on video and 17 arrests were made in a 48 hour span. 

• 11/3/23 - 14-year-old found with weapon at middle school, officials say - A 14-year-old was found in possession of a weapon at Glasgow Middle School, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

• 10/27/23 - Arrest made following deadly shooting near Donaldsonville High football game; victim identified - DONALDSONSVILLE, La. (WAFB) - A suspect has been arrested following a shooting that left one person dead and another injured near a high school football game Friday night, October 27, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

• 10/10/23 - Northside High School placed on lockdown after reported shooting - LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Lafayette Police are on the scene of a shooting in the area of Northside High School in Lafayette.

• 9/12/23 - 1 student dead, 2 others injured in school shooting in Greensburg, Louisiana - One student died Tuesday, and another was critically injured after a shooting at St. Helena High School in Greensburg, Louisiana.

• 9/1/23 - 16-year-old killed, another injured in shooting at Port Allen High School, officials say - PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) - Deputies responded to a shooting at Port Allen High School during a sporting event Friday night, September 1.

• 8/16/23 - Baton Rouge High bomb threat likely linked to similar calls across the state; lockdown lifted - BATON ROUGE - A bomb threat that shut down Baton Rouge High and triggered a chain reaction of closures at neighboring campuses was likely connected to a string of similar calls placed at other schools around the state, police said Wednesday.

• 8/11/23 - Denham Springs High School on lockdown due to bomb threat on first day of school - Denham Springs High school was placed on lockdown due to a potential bomb threat on the first day of school, but classes resumed after multiple searches by law enforcement found no concrete threat.

• 8/11/23 - Glen Oaks High School student arrested after allegedly bringing guns on campus - BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Glen Oaks High School student was arrested after he was accused of bringing weapons onto the school’s campus Thursday, Aug. 10, a spokesman with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System confirmed.

• 6/17/23 - Louisiana awards over $20M to harden school perimeters - BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is investing over $20 million to harden the perimeters of schools across the state. Today, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) approved the LDOE’s Stronger Connections Grant program allocations to 39 traditional public and public charter systems. The funds will be used to keep students and teachers safe by reinforcing single-points of entry.

• 4/27/23 - 18-year-old arrested in attack on school bus driver in video that spread online, BRPD says - An 18-year-old was arrested, accused of attacking a school bus driver this week in a fight that spread widely on social media, Baton Rouge police said.

• 4/21/23 - Lake Charles middle school student arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon - LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) — A middle school student in Lake Charles has been arrested for carrying a weapon in school, authorities said.

• 3/5/23 - Carencro High student threatens violence, police lock down school - CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) — Carencro High School responded to a threat of violence by one of its students with a show of force by law enforcement.

• 1/27/23 - Middle school briefly went on lockdown amid rumors about weapon on campus, Baton Rouge officials say - BATON ROUGE - A middle school briefly went on lockdown Friday after rumors of a gun on campus started circulating among students. 

• 1/17/23 - Police respond to bomb threat at Lafayette High School - Police have announced an arrest made for the school threat. The juvenile suspect, 17 years of age, was arrested on one count of Terrorizing and booked into the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Home. Police have confirmed the suapect is a student at LHS.

• 1/16/23 - Elizabeth High School investigating alleged school threat - Elizabeth, LA (KPLC) - Elizabeth High School is currently investigating what appears to be a school threat, which they describe as “the list,” according to a Facebook post made by the school.

• 1/15/23 - Student arrested for South La. school threat - LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) – A 15-year old student is arrested after making threats of a shooting during class.

• 1/5/23 - Lafayette Police Provide Update After Evacuation of Comeaux High School - UPDATE: LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Lafayette Police are releasing more information after Comeaux High School was evacuated Thursday morning because of a bomb threat that was called into the school.

• 12/12/22 - BPSO investigating social media threat at South Beauregard High School - Longville, LA (KPLC) - Late Sunday night, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a threat made on social media against South Beauregard High School.

• 12/12/22 - Weapon found after lockdown at New Iberia Senior High School - A weapon was found at New Iberia Senior High School on Monday, the New Iberia Police Department said in a release.

• 12/5/22 - Caddo Schools say school violence threats not credible - Officials with the Caddo Parish School District say messages threatening the Captain Shreve High School campus were determined not to be credible.

• 11/20/22 - UNO canceling classes, closing campus due to possible threat - NEW ORLEANS — The University of New Orleans says they will be canceling classes and closing campus on Monday, November 21 due to a possible threat.

• 10/20/22 - Seventh-grader arrested after bringing loaded gun to school Thursday morning - BATON ROUGE - A middle school went on lockdown after a seventh-grade student brought a gun to campus Thursday.
