4/25/24 - Student attacked with knife during fight at Lincoln High School, police say - LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police said a teen was slashed with a knife during a fight at Lincoln High School.
12/4/23 - Nebraska lawmakers look at allowing more people to carry guns in schools - Brewer said there are a number of factors to consider before he would propose authorizing other armed people in schools. Those include figuring out what training and screening would be necessary for those people.
12/2/23 - Hearing on guns in schools hints at likely 2024 legislative targets - LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Examiner) - The Nebraska Legislature appears poised next year to consider again who should be allowed to carry a gun on school property, beyond on-duty law enforcement officers.

4/4/23 - Omaha's Buffett Middle School enters lockdown after reports of a student with a weapon on campus - OMAHA, Neb. — An Omaha middle school briefly went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon after reports of a student with a weapon on campus.
3/3/23 - No charges for parents of student who brought loaded gun to Lincoln elementary school - LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police said the parents of a student who brought a loaded gun to school on Feb. 24 will not be cited.
3/2/23 - Omaha police investigate report of shooting at high school, determine there was 'no threat' - OMAHA, Neb. —Omaha police investigated a report of a shooting Thursday morning at South High School.
3/2/23 - False reports of school shootings all over Nebraska and the country - HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Several false reports of school shootings have been placed to 911 call centers across Nebraska and the country Thursday morning. The Nebraska State Patrol said there is no credible information that any such school shooting has taken place in Nebraska Thursday.
2/24/23 - Fifth grader brought loaded gun to Lincoln school, LPS says - LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A fifth grade student brought a handgun to Prescott Elementary School on Friday, Lincoln Public Schools said.

11/21/22 - Gun found outside North Star High School; student taken into custody - LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -A student was taken into custody after a loaded gun was found in a student’s backpack outside North Star High School on Monday.
10/27/22 - Juvenile booked in Douglas County in relation to school shooting threat at Omaha metro middle school - ELKHORN, Neb. — A juvenile has been booked into the Douglas County Youth Center in relation to a school shooting threat at an Omaha metro middle school on Thursday, according to law enforcement.
9/20/22 - Millard North student brought loaded gun to campus - OMAHA, Neb. —In a message to Millard North families, principal Aaron Bearinger said a male student likely brought a loaded gun on campus after school on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
