5/14/24 - Gun on campus prompts lockdown at West Mesa High School - ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A gun on campus prompted West Mesa High School to go on lockdown Monday.

5/14/24 - 15 guns found at Albuquerque Public Schools this school year - According to BCSO, a West Mesa High student was arrested for bringing a gun onto campus while under the influence of alcohol on Monday

3/12/24 - Cibola High School student in custody for bringing gun on school bus - ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A Cibola High School student was taken into custody after carrying a gun on his way to school. According to a letter from the school, the student was carrying a gun in his pocket. Authorities were alerted of the gun and apprehended the student as he exited the bus. The student was immediately taken into custody and now faces a one-year expulsion and criminal charges.

9/10/23 - Roswell police: Student with gun arrested - ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell Police Department said a student was arrested after being found with a gun on campus at Roswell High School on Friday.

8/4/23 - 2 charged in firearm lockdown at Belen High School - BELEN, N.M. —Two people have been charged after an hours-long lockdown at Belen High School. Belen police responded around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

5/13/23 - 2 juveniles in Santa Fe charged with hoax school shooting threats - SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe police have charged two juveniles for making an active shooter threat hoax back in April.

5/10/23 - Alamogordo Schools assure parents, students of safety despite online nationwide threat - Alamogordo Public Schools notified students and parents that the district and local law enforcement are aware of threats of school violence issued via social media nationwide, and remained alert for student safety.

2/16/23 - Multiple New Mexico schools receive shooting hoax - ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Several New Mexico schools received hoax shooting calls Thursday afternoon. Volcano Vista High School, Bernalillo High School, Rio Rancho High School and Santa Fe High School all received similar calls about a shooting on campus.

1/17/23 - Gallup, Farmington high schools see threats over social media - NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Shooting threats at schools in Gallup and Farmington Tuesday forced police to beef up their presence. The Gallup and Farmington police departments posted about the threats on their Facebook pages.
