• 5/22/24 - Beaufort Police detain 16-year-old student with weapon on school property - BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCSC) - Police say a 16-year-old has been arrested for having a firearm on school property after they responded to a “possible disturbance” at Beaufort High School.

• 5/4/24 - Shooting investigation underway near North Charleston High School: NCPD - NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The North Charleston Police Department says they received reports of shots fired near North Charleston High School Saturday evening.

• 4/28/24 - Allendale County on edge after slaying of teen, 2 other shootings - FAIRFAX, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - People in Allendale County are on high alert as they cope with a wave of shootings – one that killed a 14-year-old girl, one that injured a police officer in Allendale and one that hurt an 11-year-old.

• 4/12/24 - York Co. student arrested for bringing gun, knife to school - The investigation has been turned over to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

• 2/15/24 - Student at Dutch Fork High School arrested after bringing loaded gun to school - IRMO, S.C. (WIS) - A 15-year-old high school student at Dutch Fork High School was arrested Thursday for having a loaded gun at school, according to Sheriff Leon Lott of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD).

• 2/6/24 - Student detained for bringing gun to Myrtle Beach Middle School, official says - MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — An investigation is underway after police said a student brought a gun to Myrtle Beach Middle School Tuesday morning.

• 1/2/24 - SC student was beaten by classmates walking home from school. Her mother wants justice - A Midlands student was attacked by several classmates while walking home from school last spring, according to police. Her mother said she is still awaiting justice.

• 12/11/23 - Custodian finds loaded gun at SC elementary school - COLUMBIA, S.C. — A loaded gun was found at a local elementary school Monday night. 

• 12/2/23 - 1 injured following shooting at SC State, police and SLED investigating - ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) - One person was injured following a shooting at a South Carolina State University (SC State) campus residential complex Friday evening.

• 11/28/23 - 13-year-old brings gun to Rock Hill middle school - ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - A 13-year-old brought a gun in his jacket pocket to a Rock Hill middle school Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.

• 11/18/23 - 14-year-old accused of shooting into residence causing two schools to be ‘on hold’ in Lake City - LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) – A 14-year-old was taken into custody by Lake City police Friday afternoon for allegedly firing a gun into a residence which led to two schools being placed ‘on hold’, according to the city’s spokesperson Donna Tracy.

• 10/24/23 - South Carolina student arrested after bringing weapons to school, officials say - ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —A South Carolina student was arrested after bringing weapons onto an Upstate campus, officials said Tuesday.

• 10/10/23 - 16-year-old student dies at hospital after shooting on Darlington school campus, authorities say; police look for vehicle that may be connected - DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) — A 16-year-old student died Tuesday afternoon after a shooting in the parking lot at the Darlington-Lee Adult Education campus in Darlington County, authorities said.

• 1/31/23 - RCSD investigating Spring Valley High School threat - COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A threat made toward Spring Valley High School on Tuesday morning is under investigation. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said it responded to a report of a threat at the school. After notification of the threat, the school was evacuated.

• 1/26/23 - Williamsburg Co. deputies arrest 2 youths after school shooting threat - WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Two children are in custody after deputies say they called in a school shooting threat at a middle school in Hemingway, Williamsburg County deputies say.
